ABOUT

Bill Doran is a graphic designer and ceramic artist based in the Boston area. He began his ceramics practice with slip casting, later exploring wheel throwing and hand building, before recently returning to his roots in slip casting. His current process often starts with 3D modeling, followed by plastic prototyping, plaster mold-making, and slip casting ceramic forms. Bill’s work ranges from clean, modern silhouettes to textured, rugged surfaces, with a consistent focus on functional vessels. He also serves as a teaching assistant for the Molds and Multiples course at the Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard.
